Cast ALL Your Cares

Cast ALL Your Cares

While I was walking yesterday (I like walking a lot), I had these words come to mind,

“casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

This makes me think.

How often do I want to talk to Jesus (or even other people) about my problems, without ever casting them on him? To trust the one who is within is to cast all my cares on him. To trust that he cares for me. And he must care for me a lot, he came to live in me and he knew what he was in for!

If we truly know Christ within us, and that we are one with him, any problems will be his and not ours if we simply give them to him.

He will take the problems. He will take ownership of them. We have him. And we know that he himself is peace.

How will he keep the one in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him, if that mind has problems to occupy it instead of being occupied with and focused on him?

Didn’t he say,

“Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”?

And this makes me think further.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we learnt to make our problems his, and we actually let go of the problems, so that they are no longer ours?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we didn’t just talk about them with him, and then pick them up and carry on our way once we’ve finished talking, but truly cast all our cares and anxieties on him?

And the key word is “all”, not some cares or the ones I choose to let him be a part of. All is all. “Casting ALL…” Maybe we have small problems, and we can say, “I got this.” But we must learn at all times to say, “You got this. It’s yours to deal with.”

This is learning to trust the Life within. To eat of the True Bread, to be one with him. To give all our cares and anxieties to him, because the only answer to all of those is the one who is All.

Let each of us take Jesus at his word, and do as these words say,

“casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Eat the Bread, drink the Living Water. Trust the Life within.
