Prove It

Prove It

“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.”

We know from the words of Jesus that we are meant to bear fruit, and much fruit at that! And here Jesus is very clear; bear much fruit and you will prove to be my disciples.

To prove we are his disciples is to prove Jesus himself. If we are bearing fruit, we are his disciples because fruit only comes from Jesus. We are proving Jesus if we are bearing fruit!

This is what we must be doing. Jesus wants to be proved in every day life. Why? Because he still wants his Father to be glorified. That’s Jesus focus, seeing his father glorified. That has to be our focus too, to see our Father glorified.

And this proving only comes from abiding, him in us and us in him. Abiding brings this continuous consciousness of Christ in us. Life flows from this continuous consciousness of Christ in us and proves Jesus, and proves we are his disciples.

He must be proved in every day life. He wants to prove that the Life that we consciously carry within us is the very same Life that he had. It is the same life because it is Jesus himself.

This last couple of weeks Jesus has been proving himself in every day life. The guy that I mentioned in my last post who Jesus drew to himself? We met at the well (at the land of the golden arches) twice more, it was a great opportunity for Life to be shared.

The time has come to be able to point to irrefutable proof that Jesus is who he says he is. To live conscious of Christ in us, not just at certain times but all the time. There is a great phrase in the book Jesus, The Inner Spring.

“A moment comes when we decide if we really want Jesus all the time.”

Do we want Jesus all the time, or just at certain times? Do we want a continuous, flowing spring of Living Water, or a tap we can turn on and off as we want?

The Life of Jesus can never be a theory. When we truly experience his Life daily, we will prove the Life of Jesus every day too.

I looked up the word theory the other day. This was one of the meanings that really stood out.

“an idea that is suggested or presented as possibly true but that is not known or proven to be true.”

It’s very easy to live a Christian life in this way. To present Jesus in a way that is possibly true, but not known or proven to be true in our daily life.

But when the Father reveals Jesus in us to us, it’s impossible to live any other way other than for Jesus to be proved in every day life.

He will bear fruit, proving himself through his disciples, and seeing his Father glorified!

Eat the Bread, drink the Living Water. Let Jesus prove himself. Today!
